Housing and Roommates

Affiliated properties are independently managed facilities. There are three off-campus complexes affiliated with UCF. Knights Circle and The Pointe at Central are near UCF main campus, and UnionWest is near UCF’s Downtown Orlando campus.

All prospective tenants are still encouraged to exercise their own good judgment when evaluating a prospective rental unit or apartment complex.

Financial aid can be used at any off-campus property. When utilizing financial aid on off-campus housing, funds are released to the student rather than the complex directly. Please contact the UCF Office of Student Financial Assistance for more information.

Student apartments often appeal to student renters. This is a great option as a transition before seeking conventional housing. Student apartments typically offer individual leases, include basic utilities, like water and electricity (may have caps), and require a guarantor to sign a lease.

Conventional apartments are located all throughout Orlando. This is a great option for upperclassmen who are ready to be more independent. In conventional apartments, residents are responsible for lease for the entire unit, not just one room, setting up utilities like electricity and wi-fi, and proof of employment or finances to sign a lease.

For more information, view our Knight’s Guide to Living Off Campus or contact us directly.

Student Neighborhood Relations does not provide lease reviews. Students are encouraged to schedule an appointment with Student Legal Services, a free resource that offers legal services (including lease reviews).

You can also find information on what to look for before signing a lease linked here.

Subleasing is an agreement between you, your landlord, and another person who rents your residence from you. This option is very popular for students who might be graduating early, decide to transfer, or need to leave their residence for any reason. Residents who sublease their room or property are still responsible for the unit and ensuring that rent is paid and any damages are repaired. Properties and landlords can assist in this process, so contact them to learn how to best complete the process.

You can post a sublease on UCF Off-Campus Partners for free as a UCF student.

UCF Off-Campus Partners includes a roommate finder to help you find other UCF students who are searching for off-campus housing. Once you create your Roommate Profile, you will be able to browse through listings of prospective roommates and message them directly.

We recommend utilizing UCF Off-Campus Partners to explore off-campus housing options. On this website, you can filter options based on price, number of rooms, number of bathrooms, distance from campus and more.

Transportation

All faculty, staff and students who park at the UCF main campus or the Health Sciences, Rosen and Downtown campuses must purchase a parking permit. For details on types of permits and where students can park, visit UCF Parking Services, linked here. Additional transportation questions should be directed to this office.

UCF operates 10 shuttle routes that serve 23 nearby apartment communities and Central Florida Research Park. Because not all apartment complexes are on a shuttle route, students should check whether their community is included.

For more details on shuttles and additional options, visit UCF Parking Services, linked here. Additional transportation questions should be directed to this office.
